Company History

Transflow was founded in 2001 to offer architecture consulting services for middleware based application development. It was started by several of the original founding members of BEA UK.

Before BEA Keith Thomas and Garth Eaglesfield were partners in GA Systems, which was acquired by BEA Systems Inc. in 1996 to form the professional services arm of BEA UK. David Trott was with Informix prior to BEA and subsequently went on to become sales director at SunGard Data Systems, major software provider to the financial services industry.

In 2004 Transflow began to focus on providing solutions for application performance management under the Transflow Application Management System (TAMS) brand.

A Continuing Track Record

Performance monitoring and reporting have been of interest to the Transflow principals for many years. The Load Test Harness (similar to subsequent products such as LoadRunner) that GA Systems created for the Employment Service in the 90's is still in use today by EDS at DWP. The TULSA SNMP agent, part of the GA acquisition, was sold by BEA to customers such as Vodafone. In addition architectural work around application performance issues was undertaken at BEA for customers such as BT.

Since the formation of Transflow architectural analysis on performance and management issues has been carried out for its customers, mainly in the financial services sector, such as Voca (formerly BACS), Liffe and Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

Multiplatform Technology Practices

A Transflow core competence is J2EE and Java, Transflow has set up technology practices to service both the major J2EE application servers - IBM WebSphere and BEA WebLogic.
